Sixth Anniversary

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

On September 21st, punished by the “no-alcohol” decreet in place for the day in Mexico City, Konfort Records released its first two compillations: Míminas Texturas 001 and Máximas Texturas 002, in a peerless event for the Mexican underground scene. The chosen site was the prestigious eX-Teresa museum. However, preparatory work for such an event went at least as far back as two years before, when Konfort was conceived as concept. Those two years were filled with dark coffee, numerous emails and phonecalls, sleepless nights, sequential drafts and sonic O.D. Everybody involved gave their best in effort and dedications. Before becoming seven, we have decided to review the first six years of our enterprise with an evening party within the Elektrovisiones festival in Mexico City.

SEXTO ANIVERSARIO

The Incognito Traveller EP

Keeping our international presence alive, we took off earlier in the month to Paris for this year’s Qwartz Electronic Music Awards. With not much knowledge of French language, we took a stand at the accompanying independent labels fair at the famous Cirque De Hiver. Thank you for all the friendly people we met in Paris.

QWARTZ

Our good friends at Dancefloor Mayhem and Discobelle music blogs have just featured Rubinskee’s Telúrico Ep on No Copy Protection, which they labelled “seriously funky”!

Also, last year, Rosco remixed BNLoco’s Canción Playera for a download only EP available via I-Tunes.

You can hear Rosco’s remix on Sonic 360 media player.

Tuesday, March 11th, 2008

Yes, we know house! Rubinskee is back on No Copy Protection with a taste of Disco, a dash of Hi NRG and heaps of funky House attitude. From the deep jazzy vibes of “Floripondia” (an excellent remix of an excelent track by Cri Kong) to the banging beats of “Ochentayseis”, Telúrico delivers thirty five minutes of mastercrafted house music. And it is free, for you all, now! Just download, press play and get up on the dancefloor!

Konfort on Highend Tech & Style Magazine

Thursday, February 7th, 2008

Some time ago, the guys at Highend Tech & Style Magazine gathered a bunch of us labels, artists and the like to pick our brains on the future of music in a high tech society. Well, the issue is finally on stands! So, go grab a copy and tell us what you think.

Also, thanks to all of you who showed up this weekend for the second Acido al Parque festival. You got not only to hear Flux — in a rare live set — bring down the house, but also to see him wearing one of our new long sleeve shirts! Classy!

And, of course, do not miss Rubinskee and The Incognito Traveller performing live on the latest installment of our Replicant Night series. Like usual, Centro Cultural España, free entrance!

Sweatshirts, Tees, mugs and record bags! Show us your Konfort pride! Show the world your immaculate musical taste! Go to our virtual store at www.cafepress.com/konfort, and send cool valentines!

It is official: We are a cult label!
You might remember a monthly city guide called DF por Travesías, which ceased publication a year ago. Well, instead of a magazine, it is now a book called DF de Culto, featuring the coolest stuff in the city, not for tourists, but for chilangos.“Ponemos énfasis en todo aquello que es clásico e irrepetible de la Ciudad. Aunque existen otras guías, no hay una que sea de los chilangos para los chilangos” said senior editor Guillermo Osorno. So, it is not surprising that when it came to electronic music from the city, they chose Konfort. Go out, get it and read about how cool we are!

Terragroove

Señor Mandril’s sophomore album is coming very, very soon. It is funky, it is groovy and it’s got soul! Jointly released by Intolerancia and Discos Konfort in Mexico, and Three Sixty Records online. You can listen to new tracks now at their myspace, and live next March 6th at G-Martell Music School in Mexico City. Check for details in our events calendar.
